Volunteer Opportunities Include
PIP Volunteer Opportunity
Families in Detroit and surrounding counties who are in need of Parent Infant Partners to provide education and information on resources and friendly non-judgmental support during pregnancy, birth, infancy, and the first year of life. These volunteers serve as in home visitors who provide support to at-risk pregnant women.
Volunteers must be able to complete the 24-hour five-week training provided by the Infant Mortality Program. After completing the training classes, the partners will be matched with an expectant mother.
Training and direction is offered to prepare you for a volunteer role. A professional will work with the volunteer, to provide a team approach when working with families. Placement of volunteers is based on individual background, skills, and interests. Volunteering provides opportunities for personal and professional growth and satisfaction.
Volunteers
Jubilee Child Developmental Play Provider
Provide quality care and activities for infants and young children whose parents participate in the Jubilee Parenting Support Group. Wednesday or Thursday (11am-1pm)
Literacy Program
Provides tutoring for reading to parents in the child bearing years. Offers basic literacy and ESL classes. Provides educational counseling.
Fund Raising Activities
Serve as a committee member for fundraising activities i.e. Infant Mortality Awareness Week, Night at Comedy Castle and Beneron Fundraising Breakfast.
