Parent Infant Partner (Mentor)
Pregnant women are welcome to participate in the Parent Infant Partner Program. This program provides information and support to women in the early months of pregnancy and through the first year of the baby’s life. The program provides a trained volunteer who:
- Meets with you in your home
- Mentors parents and children to grwo together in trust and love
- Communicates with parents and encourages them to share their feelings, concerns, answers questions and gives information.
- Helps parents understand that all babies develop differently and to feel more secure in their role as a parent.
- Answers questions and gives information on pregnancy and parenting.
Parent Infant Partners
An in home visitor who provides information, resources and support to women with high-risk pregnancies and their families. *Must complete a total of 20 hours of training provided by the Program.
The Parent Infant Partners Program is specifically designed to address the high infant mortality rate in the Detroit and surrounding counties. We need caring and concerned individuals to volunteer to help us reach our goal.
The program trains volunteers to offer friendship, understanding, and support and resource information to women with high-risk pregnancies and their families. After the training classes the partners will be matched with an expectant mother.
